Budget Home Office Desk and Chair Finds

Budget friendly home office desk ideas plus desk chairs that are comfy and cute

Are you more of a work from the kitchen table or work from a desk kind of person?

Now that we have started this home office renovation I am officially ready to be a work at a desk kind of gal.

I had a home office at our last house and really enjoyed having a separate space from the rest of the house for work.

Don’t get me wrong it also stored a lot of To Do project items which is nice too.

Now that we are at the halfway point in this renovation I thought it would be a good time to start shopping for some home office desk ideas!

Old House Home Office

The desk from our old house is still in great shape but not really the style of the new home office, so I plan to sell it on Facebook Marketplace and use that money for a new one.

I am also selling this faux leather chair from the old office and replacing it with something a little less modern looking.

It amazes me how personal style changes over the years, I feel like within the last two years I really honed in on what my style is and sticking to it, instead of going with what’s on trend.

There is nothing wrong with the old office, the built-in bookcases were beautiful and the paper shredder cabinet was a fun build, it’s just not quite me anymore.

Home Office Inspiration

For the new home office I am going for a more classic look mixed with vintage elements and lots of fancy trim and moulding.

The walls, moulding, cabinets will all be painted in Poetry Plum by Sherwin Williams.

I would love to add a floral wallpaper to the ceiling like I did in my mom’s home office.

Incorporating vintage and antique elements in this new office is a high priority, so I am leaning towards a wood desk….

Do you prefer a swivel desk chair or a stationary one?

Another option would be to use a big comfy accent chair as a desk chair!

If I do find one second hand I might paint it with the same faux leather technique I used on Eli’s old rocking chair.

I am very picky though about second hand furniture that is fabric… Some smells you cannot get out!

We still have a few more projects to complete before the home office is finished but we are getting there!

I cannot wait to have a place to work and be organized.
